TOOTSIE (1982) - An unemployed actor with a reputation for being "difficult", Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman) tries to raise the money to finance an off-off-Broadway play written by his roommate (Bill Murray). Posing as "Dorothy Michaels", he auditions for a TV soap opera and lands the part of a woman. As he begins to captivate audiences, Michael begins to identify more and more with "Dorothy" and finds himself as the centerpiece of one of the oddest love triangles Hollywood has ever conceived - caught between his love for his leading lady (Jessica Lange), the affections of his co-star's father (Charles Durning), and the amorous intentions of his girlfriend (Teri Garr). Director Sydney Pollack concocts deliriously funny recipes for disastrous situations all the way to the hilarious climax. Big laughs and big award nominations (including an Oscar for Jessica Lange, as well as nominations for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Picture).

Time Magazine has called Ned Rorem "the world's best composer of art songs." Words and music are inextricably linked for this prolific Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer, whose musical and literary ventures include symphonies, concertos, operas, choral works of every description, ballet and theater music, and hundreds of songs as well as books, diaries and collections of essays. Rorem, who lived in Paris for nearly a decade, infuses Letters from Paris with the whimsical French spirit.

She's one of R&B’s most creative singer/songwriters. Since releasing an acclaimed hip hop-inflected album last year, Michele has taken her music in an entirely new direction with an ambitious homage to a triumvirate of jazz legends: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. Tapping into her early love of jazz and American Songbook standards, Michele displays the improvisational skills and scat chops that she’s largely kept under wraps during her rise as an R&B diva. She premieres her latest project in the spectacular Paramount Theatre, a perfect setting in which to revisit the glories of jazz history.

What makes a band truly remarkable? Insightful lyrics? Memorable melodies? Blow-your-mind live performances? The truth is that it takes all of those things along with a boundless enthusiasm, an infectious energy and a supreme devotion to the fans. With this rare combination, a band may ascend past "good," or even the record industry's Holy Grail, "marketable" and reach sublime. Drawing on the hardships and joys of their own lives and a musical history ranging from old world Celtic to modern day punk rock, the seven members of Flogging Molly do just that, and they do it with a charm and an ease that makes them one of the most accessible bands performing today.

This 19-year-old talent has been touted by his peers (read Tiesto, Skrillex and Deadmau5) as one of the nu-breed saviours of electronic music, and having only experienced the limelight for just a few months, his achievements paint the picture of a super bright future.
2011 saw Porter achieve what some do in an entire career. He provided solid tour support to Tiesto and Skrillex, as well as debut appearances at Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and Electric Zoo that led to him entering DJ Mag's Top 100 and the Billboard Top 21 Under 21 chart.
His EP "Spitfire", which crashed Beatport's servers on release, smashed its way to the #1 position in the process and held fort for 2 weeks solid. He's already remixed Lady Gaga and Avicii, and has a string of A-list artists knocking down his door.

THE STING (1973) - This stylish and remarkably clever film is still one of the most entertaining con-men movies ever made. In Chicago during the Great Depression, small-time confidence man Hooker (Robert Redford) seeks revenge against gangster Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw) for the murder of his partner. Hooker teams up with Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman), "the greatest con man in the world", and the duo launches an intricate scheme to defraud Lonnegan of his ill-gotten fortune. The chemistry between Redford and Newman is delightful and the pair seem to be having as much fun as the audience. With perfect period sets and Marvin Hamlisch's arrangement of Scott Joplin's ragtime music, George Roy Hill directs a twisting plot from a screenplay by David S. Ward with exquisite detail. The film garnered seven Oscars in 1974, including the awards for Best Picture, Best Writing, and Best Director.

Here's how you know you've made it in the music business: You've stayed strong for three decades on your own terms, on your own time, by your own rules, and over that time your influence has only grown. Each of your albums has been stronger than your last. You've been brought onstage by Bruce Springsteen, because he wanted to play one of your songs. You've seen high times and low ones, good days and tragic days, but every night you give 100%, and every morning you wake up still swinging. Over the past 30 years, the punk godfathers in the band have all but trademarked their sound, a brand of hard rockabilly/punk that's cut with the melodic, road-tested lyrics of frontman Mike Ness.
